  1. Awwww…my man Michael. He had some great songs for the different causes he addressed during his lifetime. This is a perfect anti-bullying song you’ve chosen Cherie!!! 👏🏼🎶👍🏼

    • Thank you so much, Kym. The first time I remember hearing MJ on the radio was in the hospital after my mom and I were in a near-fatal car accident. And the song was “I Wanna Rock with You (All Night)” and I loved him instantly. I was sad when the media began bashing him because of his mental illness. I never believed he had done what they say he’d done.

      • OMG Cherie, a near fatal accident? Girl, I am soooo glad God had his hand on the both of you. Had he not, we wouldn’t be reading the endearing and powerful messages you’ve been sharing with all of us. 🙏🏼

You know, being the compassionate person that you are, you embody true empathy for people, and with the experiences you have had dealing with the topics you cover each day, you can relate to the bullying and bashing Michael endured. 🤗 Even the rich and famous deal with the everyday ills that society throws so harshly.

Michael and I were the same age. I fell in love with him when I first heard him and his J5 brothers sing. I used to write Mrs. Michael Jackson on my school notebooks when I was doodling and daydreaming in elementary school. What a crush I had girlfriend! 💖🥰❤ Thanks so much for sharing your empowering stories Cherie! 🥂

        • My pleasure, sweetie! And thank you for your sweet comment! And I love that you had a childhood crush on Michael Jackson. As little girl stuck in a hospital for two months and during the Christmas holidays that year nonetheless, I developed a crush on him too. He definitely made being confined to a hospital bed with my leg in traction and an injured back much more bearable. 🙂😍

        • And, BTW, I almost was introduced to Prince during my time in the hospital as well and instantly loved his music too. I watched “His Royal Badness” perform on TV while lying up and still remember the song he performed- “I Wanna Be Your Lover.” I have all Prince’s CDs- 1999, Purple Rain, all of them! ❤❤❤

          • I was in college when Prince came on the scene. Girl, he was explosive but I loved to dance and his music kept me in shape! LOL 😜 You have some wonderful musical memories that served as a healing agent for you during the time you needed it. 💖❤💝

          • Oh, girl! Music always helped heal me! It’s one of the best medicines there is. Music has always been a big part of my life and my family’s life.

My maternal grandmother, God rest her soul, used to have big holiday parties and family get togethers at our house. And my Dad’s family used to come join us. Both families used to have a ball at these shindigs and sometimes even the neighbors would come join us when my dad and uncles would set up a band and play in the back yard. If they didn’t play, we’d play records. This was when I was growing up.

I still remember the songs! I’ve posted blog posts about these shindigs because they’re such good memories! I’m blessed to have such great family memories!

          • Gosh Cherie, you’ve got me so excited hearing about some wonderful memories that left a great impression on you, your family and the celebrations that came from that. I believe music is a healer. I’ve seen evidence of it and I’ve experienced it. I still do!!! 🎶🥳🎵💐🎼 Thanks for sharing that my friend! 🤗

          • Cherie, this brought tears to my eyes. You shared some beautiful moments and truly this post tugged at my heartstrings. 💝 It took me back to many times during my childhood when our family made such trips and life seemed like it couldn’t get any better. Love your Uma. Wish I could have met her! 🙏🏼
