Forgive

Spread the love

Forgiveness doesn’t mean forgetting what happened.

I don’t forgive to let anyone off the hook.

I don’t forgive because what the person did was okay.

I don’t forgive to give the person a free pass.

I forgive them for my benefit.

I forgive to set myself free- free from anger and the need for revenge.

I forgive to give myself a gift.

Forgiving means that I can feel good about myself.

Forgiving means that I don’t have to think of the person anymore.

Forgiving means that I can walk away- make a clean break.

Forgiving means that I can sever ties with the pain and leave it behind.

Forgiving means I can move on.

Forgiving means that I choose to be happy.

Oh how spot-on Cherie. Forgiveness is not condoning what people have done, but it is liberating for your spirit! Very good reflection and a great reminder for today girlfriend! 😍 💝 🥰 💖😘

In my 20s, that was a difficult lesson to learn. By my 30s, I began to understand. By 40, I could apply it even though it sometimes took a little while. Now I’m a master. 😀 Whew, glad it is so much easier, but everything you wrote is true.

    For me, this usually works.

    Great quote.
    Still my comments are no-shows.
So, I suppose I am writing with no ink in my pen.

No shows? Whoa! I’ve been approving liking and replying to your comments. Of course I’ve been outside all day with the critters, maybe that’s the reason they haven’t shown up yet. I’ll check my settings and see what’s going on. Thank you for the heads up.

You are right Cherie. Forgiving is confusing because forgetting is basically impossible. I suppose we should get our hearts and minds set on how to forget to make way for forgiveness.
