Welp! Here We Go Again. Back to Square One.

Spread the love

It’s a load of crap, but…there is a silver lining:

Last night, I found another blogger who is having the exact same issues. So, at least I don’t feel like I’m the only one. Also, we can support each other and try to come up with solutions to this mess.

Just the same, I can’t thank you all enough for continuing to support this blog. Know that I will eventually come up with a solution. I just don’t know when. But my mama didn’t raise a quitter! Either I’ll get it fixed or just learn to live with it.

In the meantime, I’ll continue to stay positive. I will do the only thing I can do, which is go down the follower list, read, and comment on each of your blogs as I come to them. Note that you are on a list of about 4500 blogger/followers. Therefore, if you’re way down in the queue, it may be a while before I can get to your blog.

I love you all! 😍🥰😍🥰😍🥰😍🥰😍🥰

Thank you for sticking with us. I’m taking a break from writing and probably won’t start again for another few weeks, so you don’t have to get to DLTDGB right away 🙂

There is definitely something going on with the WordPress “Like” button. Going back to old posts that I know I liked, the button was no longer blue. On Reader, the star was no longer blue.

Wow! The more time passes, the more bloggers I discover who have this same problem. You’re now about the seventh blogger who’s informed me of having the same issues! Yeesh!!! 😲My heart goes out to you, Dawn. Know that I’m always here if you need moral support! You’ve got a friend here! 💖🤗💖🤗

Hi, I sent something to you last evening that I didn’t see was posted, no worries on that. I stated that I thought having 2 blogs was a mistake. It adds to the work and stress and frankly you split the audience with two. If people follow this blog, they will follow you over. Not that it is any of my business but I thought that was a major mistake when you decided to keep this one instead of focusing on a self-hosted site. This is further proof that it wasn’t the correct decision frankly. This will keep happening here.

    Best of luck!

You know, Valerie? Me and another blogger were just discussing this and we think that it’s actually a BOT who flagged me, not a real human being. And that’s what it’s looking like, more and more. I’ve discovered that this is happening to six other bloggers besides me. Thank you so much, sweetie, for your continued patience and kindness! 💞💞💞

No worries Cherie, take your time and do what you feel you need to, I’m not going anywhere. You have a follower for life, no matter where you post!

    • cheriewhite says:

Thank you so much, Stella! 💖💖💖 This means more than you know! And I’m definitely not going to quit because of this hiccup! Not going to give it that kind of power! 😊😊😊

  5. foguth says:

Good luck to you, Cherie! Until now, I hadn’t realized that you thought you were singled out. … Side comment, how can anything other than an actual bot mistake you for one?!?!?

    • cheriewhite says:

My thoughts exactly, Jeanne! 💯💯💯Honey, you just typed the words right off my keyboard! I’ve thought of that since day one of this nonsense, that it’s an actual BOT that is flagging me! Love you, girlie! 💞💞💞

What a ridiculous restriction for them to put on your account. Especially when they claim it’s just trying to promote your own blog by liking other people’s posts. Often we are just reciprocating a like for someone who gave us a like. Emails about a new like even had that wording “You might find theirs as awesome as they found yours. Make up your mind, WP!

    • cheriewhite says:

That’s exactly what happened, Balladeer! 💯💯💯 They got me again because I was only reciprocating all the follows I received during the first time they flagged my site and I told them that the only people’s posts I would like would be the people on my followers list and the only new blogs I would follow would be those who followed me first- I know that sounds pretty conditional and self-centered, but I was only doing it this way to keep from being flagged again. And I told them that and they seemed like they were okay with it. It seemed that a mutual understanding had been reached. But, no dice.

Thank you so much for your understanding and continued kindness, Balladeer. 🤗🤗🤗 I’m so sorry this happened. This whole fiasco has really taken the oxygen out of me and I’m having to do a lot of mental gymnastics just to keep up the motivation to continue blogging.

Cherie, I did too. It’s been going on for maybe 10 or 11 months. I meant to mentioned that to you a few days ago but maybe my replies aren’t going through either.

Are you going to move your blog?
    Best,
    JD

    • cheriewhite says:

Wow! I’d forgotten about that, JD. But now that you mention it, you did mention it and I’m so sorry that you got caught in the net like I and a few other bloggers! Bless you, sweetie! 10 or 11 months! Jeez, what is with these power-hungry devils! 😈😈😈 Know that I know how frustrating this is and that I’m here anytime you need a friend. Sending you lots of peace and love, sweetie! 💖🥰😍💞💖🥰😍

    • cheriewhite says:

Yes it is, Herb. But I’ve found that I’m not the only one. I’ve already discovered that there are a few other bloggers whose hands are tied as well. One fellow blogger told me that she’s been flagged and restricted for close to 11 months and another told me that she’s been that way for 2 months. A few others have come forward too. It’s a bad business decision on WP’s part. I understand that they want to protect against spam bots and splogs because these bots can be quite annoying. But a few legitimate bloggers are being caught up in the dragnet and it seems that no one at WP headquarters wants to do much about that. Thank you so much for your kindness and support! 😊😊😊

    • cheriewhite says:

I’m so glad, Monika! I wouldn’t wish this on anyone! What did you do to shield from this? Maybe I can do the same and end this nonsense! Pray tell- what’s your secret! 🙂🙂🙂

    • cheriewhite says:

Thank you so much, Cindy! Unfortunately, this has happened to a few other bloggers too. I’ve talked to them today and they’re having the same problem. I can understand that WP wants to flag bot accounts and reduce spam and splogs. I’m all for that because I’ve gotten my share of spam and dealt with spam-bots and it’s quite annoying. But a few legitimate bloggers are getting caught in the dragnet and the kings of WordPress don’t seem to want to do much to solve this issue.

But I’m not giving up. My mama didn’t raise a quitter. So, I’ll soldier on and continue to blog my way through this. Sending you lots of love, sweetie! 💖💞💖💞

Miss Cherie I love this Blog. I know I have been absent but my injuries are stopping me. I end up sleeping up to 18 hours a day with this pain. 16 and a half months suffering from the pain with words of having surgery soon. It has been a super long time.

Sorry, Cherie my super friend and fellow blogger. Please come and read her blog there is nothing like it on WordPress.com !! James A. Best- Author-Blogger

My heart goes out to you, James! Take all the time you need. I’ll be here when you return. Your health and wellness should always come first. Know that my thoughts and prayers go up for you and that I wish you a complete recovery. 🙏💖
