I had a friend of a friend in another state whom I barely know (we’ve met in person once that I can remember) message me on Facebook yesterday asking to borrow money… it wasn’t much, but I had to say no. I had this happen before with someone else, followed by multiple promises of “now we just need a little bit more and my boyfriend is going to get a new job soon and we’ll pay you back in a month or two,” and then they moved out of state with over $5000 of my money, she broke up with the guy, she moved in with someone new, and I never saw a cent of it. So I had to draw the line.
(It was a small enough amount that, had this been someone I knew well, I probably would have done it, with the warning that this was a one time thing, period, no exceptions.)
A very important truth, Cherie. 😊
Thank you, Jeff. 🙂

Sometimes saying no to someone else is saying yes to ourselves. I know that was a hard lesson you had to learn.
🙏
Thank you so much, Sensei. 🙂
That’s cool, great content.
Much appreciated. This really means a lot!
Saying ‘no’ is assertiveness. A skill many people should learn how to do!
Absolutely, Chen!
