Today, we are reading about more and more cases in which schools retaliate against students for reporting the bad behavior of their teachers. In this case, the student reported her teacher’s inappropriate sexual remarks, talks, and actions in class to her students. As a result, the school viciously retaliated by banning her from attending her graduation ceremony.

So very wrong!
It sure is, Valerie! It makes me sick what they’re doing to her and she should sue the pants off them!
It is so sad. Totally unjust and the teacher qualifies for the “millstone around her neck” and then being dumped in the ocean.
Absolutely 💯 No teacher should EVER have those kinds of discussions with children in her class. My chin nearly hit the floor when I read the article. The quoted comments she made to those kids and how awkward they felt. Whoa!
I was once cautioned by my Head teacher not to tell pupils I was on an online dating site. Therefore, this is totally sick. I agree the student should sue. However, I know of a case where a teacher was stuck off for showing how bad it can be for substitute teachers.
Right. There’s always a clique of sacred cow teachers that principals and school board protect at the expense of the kids and it’s not right.
This ancient post of mine but be of some interest to you. https://peacefulrampage.wordpress.com/2014/04/16/a-victory-for-the-bullies/
Thank you, Michael! I’ll definitely check it out!
Wow… that’s disturbing…
… but then again, maybe not, since we live in a world where the media is defending this kind of thing: https://notthebee.com/article/check-out-this-nyt-headline-about-the-pornography-literacy-classes-taught-to-elementary-kids-by-a-sex-positive-educator
It’s very disturbing and media does defend it which makes them just as guilty and lowdown as the perverts who push this garbage into our schools and our kids’ minds!
Thanks for following my site; you are very kind.
It’s my pleasure. 🙂
You have a wonderful, and important, web site. Please keep up your good work. By the way, my second grade teacher had your name lol
Thank you so much. Your comment really means a lot. I will definitely keep posting. Warning people about bullying is my life’s work, mission, and passion. I won’t stop until the day I close my eyes forever. Your teacher had an uncommon name. Cherie is very uncommon. 🙂
May God richly bless you, and lead you, as you pursue your important calling. Btw, it was second grade. “Miss White,” taught us table manners, now to hold a fork, and “to not talk with food in our mouth!” lol. She was amazing.
Oh, gotcha! I’m so glad you had a wonderful teacher! Teachers can either build you up or tear you down. It sounds like she built you up! Thank you so much for your kindness! ❤
Thank you.
You are very welcome..
School is covering up what is wrong?
They’re afraid the incident will give them a bad name.

Yes Students need to get justice. Your article is an eye opener.
Thank you, Anand.
What is wrong with people, 1st that they would be inappropriate in class, 2nd that they would not own it and 3rd that they would punish someone who called out their actions. The more things change, the more they stay the same.
I’m with you there! 100%
It’s time that we start firing bad teachers and protect our kids!
You got that right! People like those have no business working with children.
The other side of the coin exists: students misreporting teachers’ behavior. I know of a case in Brooklyn of a student saying a teacher had fondled her. The teacher, from a foreign country recruited to fill chronic shortages in NYC schools, was taken out of school in handcuffs. Six months later the student confessed to have made the whole incident up. As with everything in life, situations can be complicated.
Unfortunately, that happens a lot. Especially with unruly kids who want to get back at someone for calling out their behavior. However, this case is different because there’s too much evidence. Just the same, it’s sad when innocent teachers get labeled in with the bad ones.
Agree that that might happen a lot. This event occurred in a turbulent and troubled urban school that had three principals in three years. The state eventually dissolved the school and two new charters were created in that same space. Btw, it was a middle school.

Aww! Thank you so much! This really means a lot! <3
Thank you very much.

I am going to say something controversial here but I think a lot of the really good, caring educators are gone now. Don’t get me wrong, there are still some good ones but the system has ran so many off. From teaching to the test, student behavior, parents, administration, state and national laws made by people who have never been educators, etc and low pay for our teachers, many have thrown in the towel and are doing other things. And on the issue of behavior, so many teachers can’t handle their students anymore, feel helpless, feel bullied themselves or in some cases can be bullies to the students. I don’t think schools are set up to address bullying well at all.
It’s not controversial at all. Because you’re right! The good teachers are run off because they make the bad teachers look like utter scumbags. So the bad teachers smear them and get rid of them then go on treating some of the students like garbage. It’s sad.
