Loving Yourself Means Loving EVERYTHING That is You

It means loving every single part of yourself that you can do nothing about. What it doesn’t mean is loving some things about yourself and either hating or being ashamed of other parts. It means loving yourself completely- your entire self and all that you are- loving your whole being.

Whether you’re rich, poor, or middle-class, embrace it. It’s a part of who you are. Whether you’re Black, White, Hispanic, Jewish, or any other race, never be ashamed of it! Embrace it and love it because it too is a part of you.

Whether you have brown eyes, blue eyes or green; dark, red, or blonde hair; dark or light skin- love those things. Those are also a part of you.

Love your nationality, your country, your state, community, and neighborhood because they too make up the person that is you. Whether you are American or Japanese, British, or Indian, love and take pride in those things about you. Whether you’re from Texas, New York, or Nova Scotia, love those things too. Take pride in and love yourself, no matter your heritage!

Also, accept your past and be okay with it. If you grew up poor and made it out, don’t be ashamed. Be proud of it because it’s a testament to how far you’ve come. If you grew up in an abusive household, own that too because it’s proof that you survived and overcame. The same goes if you were once a drug-addict or alcoholic but now sober. Be not ashamed of those things, for those are things you’ve triumphed over. Even if you have a past of crime and imprisonment and have turned your life around, see it as evidence of how far you’ve come and use it to teach others.

Love yourself no matter your weight, height, or whether you have freckles, glasses, or braces- they too are the building blocks of you. If you’d like to change them and can change them, by all means, change them.

Lose weight if you like, get contacts if you don’t like the glasses, and look forward to beautiful teeth once those braces come off. That’s perfectly okay. There’s nothing wrong with wanting to become what you feel would be a better version of yourself.

But love the things you can’t change about yourself. Embrace yourself. Even better, celebrate yourself. Know that each of us is perfectly made, flaws and all!

Know that how you look, your past, your weight, height; eye, hair, and skin color; race, nationality, creed, upbringing, orientation, religion, values- each are the building blocks that make up the whole you. The only thing you should judge yourself on is your character.

So, if you know in your heart that you are a good person and have love to offer others, love yourself too. And do it for all that you are.

Remember that when it all comes down, no person is better than another. See yourself as neither superior nor inferior, but just as good as the next person. You are you and you love it!

Accept yourself

Love yourself

Believe in yourself

Take care of yourself

Know your value and your worth

Know that you are worthy of the best life has to offer!

      • What about serial killers (I know it is an extreme example) they don’t love others but they are selfish enough to kill other people. Everyone loves themselves. It is human nature.

          • I believe they are human and all humans should be loved. With serial killers and rapists that means giving them what they deserve and that is death. Sadly our government thinks that capital punishment is cruel. Another sad thing is that rapists don’t get life in prison at least. The average sentence for these people being only 10 years

          • Absolutely they deserve death. And it’s sad that the powers that be think that capital punishment is “cruel.” It shows that they have no regard for the victims nor their grieving families. It makes you want to ask them,, “well, isn’t what the serial killers did to the victims also cruel? I believe the punishment should fit the crime.

I also believe that pedophiles and child rapists should be castrated. And the state of Alabama has already put into law that anyone convicted of sex crimes against children are subject to being sentenced to not only life in prison, but chemical castration. It’s definitely a step in the right direction. Maybe other states will follow suit.

But I guarantee that if we had capital punishment and castration as penalties in all states, the statistics of these crimes would drop exponentially!

          • Yes definitely, Child rapists should be at least castrated if not get the chair. It is very sad that the more liberal states and the Democratic Party are pretty much celebrating pedophilia. They are even making it legal with consent. What does consent mean with a 14 year-old? I am 14 and I know that 14 year-olds can be easily persuaded to do something. It is just sick! An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth! If you take the life of a person then you should get your life taken away. Jeffery Dahmer converted to Christianity in prison and repented of his crimes, but he still said that that doesn’t excuse his crimes. He said he deserved death. Even the serial killers know what they deserve. I was watch Dateline on NBC and this family wanted to know where this sicko buried their daughter. He said he would tell them if they dropped the charges to manslaughter (which it clearly wasn’t) this guy convinced this young woman to become his 2nd wife and killed her a year later. He is a murderer and a polygamist and is getting out of prison in less than 20 years. This is wrong and things like this need to be fixed!

          • Samuel, you are wise beyond your years and I’m so impressed! You have a bright future and you are going places, Kiddo! And I so agree, the Radical Left has been promoting pedophilia and letting pedos out of jail for a long time now and it needs to be stopped. It’s just sick, evil, and diabolical!

I even saw a video in a link posted on Facebook and it showed a public speaker at a Liberal University (sadly, most universities are run by the Left). This woman was influencing students not to judge pedophiles or to call sex between an adult and child pedophilia but to call it a natural love union (or something to that effect)!

I couldn’t believe what I was seeing and hearing! I couldn’t watch all of it because it literally made me want to puke! It astounds me that parents shell out tens of thousands of dollars to send their children to these colleges that think it’s okay for someone to come into their schools and promote this kind of garbage!

It clearly shows the lack of concern some people have for the welfare of their children OR shows how uninformed they are, one of the two.

And for any lawyer to allow a client to corner his victims family like that just shows the sick mentality of too many who hold powerful positions. Thank you so much for speaking out against injustices such as these. Keep it up!

Because the only way to bring down these cases is to expose, before polite society, the perpetrators and those who think this crap is okay.

  1. I consider myself a “liberal” in many areas. I believe all men, woman, and children are all created equal. However, I am totally a fanatic against child abuse, and pedophiles.
It causes me to see red when I hear children being subjected to such abuses. It also turns my stomach to see people being bullied, worse yet is “familial” abuse. I have been there. I have broke the cycle by not becoming an abuser also. The theory is the abused, become the abuser. I stand up and say, “b.s.”! Pardon my French! Abusers come in all shapes, sizes, colors, class, financial status, political leanings, and even within the religious communities. My point being the abuse of children by the very person they have been told to trust, their Parish Priest!

    • I couldn’t agree more, Dwain! It absolutely turns my stomach to know that children are being abused- and in the ways we are now finding out about and I’ll tell you this! If I ever see someone harming a child, that’s the day I will get extremely violent and beat the person to a pulp! I don’t condone violence but in a situation like that, violence is warranted to protect an innocent child. And you’re right about the cycle of abuse. Whether the abused becomes an abuser often depends on the person and their determination not to become the person who hurt them. And yes, abusers come in every form. Thank you for commenting, Dwain. And know that you’re a remarkable person for not passing down the abuse you went through. God bless you richly! 🙂

  2. I really hope, people like you and me can one day explain the depressed people out there that loving ourselves is the most important thing to do! Everyone out there is writing about truth, love and depression but there are some who explain the importance of self-love. Very nicely written ❤️❤️

    • Thank you so much! I have those hopes too. Though I realize that some people are so deep in depression that when you talk to them gently, they don’t want to hear it. I can say this because I was once the same way when I was young. Thank the Lord, I began doing a lot of reading and grew past it. Your comment really meant a lot to me. Again, thank you so much. 🙂
